Strawberry Poptarts, working out & Tony Bennett
How could I forget how much I have been craving Strawberry Poptarts? Me, who has never eaten a Strawberry Poptart before in her life (except maybe in extreme circumstances), CRAVE them. Well, baby craves them. And not for breakfast- they are only for dessert, or maybe sometimes an afternoon snack.
I think baby Janos really likes working out. I think I have been able to feel him or her moving when I've done some stuff at the gym. And I am pretty sure they were wriggling around last night while Jonathan was tickling me. It's just this strange tingling, I don't really know how to describe it. I honestly don't know if it is actually baby Janos or just normal stomach movements, but who cares, right? I'll believe what I want ;)
And not that this has changed with pregnancy, but I am still watching a lot of Criminal Minds (I LOVE that show). In the most recent episode, Rossi mentioned listening to Tony Bennett on vinyl. So, here I am writing a blog post and listening to Tony Bennett. He's a classic. You just grab yourself a martini and a dance partner and enjoy...enjoy that martini for me. I like girly ones, just so you know what to make.
Hope you have a great day!

15 Weeks Today!
The exciting news for me is that we will find out our baby's gender on March 30!! It still doesn't feel real AT ALL. But it will be cool to know the sex. For all of you opinionated people, yes we have the names picked out, and no, we don't care at all if you don't like them, so it's probably better to just pretend that you do. Feel free to ask me the name, I just don't feel like putting it in writing until they are here, in my arms, known and NAMED. I wonder if I will start calling them by their name before I meet them..I feel like I don't want to. For some reason it always seems a little odd to start acting as if they are already here, out in the world, when you haven't even met them yet. But I could change my tune. Lord knows I tend to be fickle about some things.
I have been doing a trial at a gym nearby and I LOVE it. It's got a lot of great classes, a woman's-only workout area and an awesome post-workout spa area. I like taking a little dip in the hot tub (don't worry- it's not that hot, and it's just for a few minutes) and a little steam to ease my sore muscles. (They have actually been really sore b/c I am super lazy and haven't worked out in ages.) I'll be using our tax refund money for a gym membership, and I am sure by body will thank me for it during and post labor. I ran yesterday for the first time in a while, and I really don't think baby Janos was pleased. I felt awful. So we'll just stick to Zumba, Barlattes, yoga & aqua-classes!
SYMPTOMS...other than weight gain
Headaches: like...all the time. They aren't terrible, just annoying and persistent.
Nausea: well, I wouldn't call it nausea really, but I can't think of another name for it. I just started feeling weird and off when I am tired and haven't eaten well.
Car sickness: never in my life have I gotten car sick before, now I get it when we go on longer trips...it's a major bummer b/c I love to read in the car
Cravings: strawberries, CEREAL, but mainly just a lack of desire for most things. Most nights I make dinner for Jonathan and just eat mine too without thinking because I have no real desire for it. It's weird, I tend to have very strong feelings about food.
Talk to you later! Hopefully my baby-blob turns into a cute bump soon :)

What Baby Janos Wants, Baby Janos Gets
Baby wants yogurt parfaits? Baby gets parfaits. Baby wants Lucky Charms? Here you go baby. Baby wants 3 cherry cokes at 7 pm? Drink up Kelly. Baby wants to be awake for 3-5 am? Sounds good. Baby doesn't want me to read or journal or do anything but lay in the dark and ponder the universe lest baby make me nauseous? Sounds like a plan baby. Oh, wait, don't ponder too hard, because that makes us uncomfortable too.
Nobody puts baby in the corner.
Have you ever wondered why they use the same word for host "for a party" and host "for a parasite living off of your body?" For some reason that seems an important thing to consider right now...but not too hard, because baby wouldn't want that.
In a side note, not regarding my laying in bed lightly pondering the universe this evening/morning, I am posting my first pregnancy picture. J says I don't look pregnant, but I'd rather not just look fat. He says the hand on my stomache is the only thing that gives it away... or I guess me telling you that this is a picture of me and Baby Janos at 13 weeks is also a tell.

Our Progeny
Jonathan Edward Janos
Kelly Diane Boswell
As I have been home for a few days, I have had the joy of looking through some of Jonathan and my baby pictures. As we were both pretty cute babies, it is getting me excited to meet our little one. Too bad it's some 6 months away...womp womp.
Hopefully our progeny has our good genes ;)
On a side note, pregnancy/vacation is going pretty well. I'm currently on movie 3 of my Julia Roberts Marathon (Pretty Woman- SO good!) and am enjoying sleeping a LOT and eating lots of delicious cereal like Lucky Charms, Reeses Puffs and Honey Nut Cheerios. Yogurt parfaits are also a hot item to baby Janos at the moment.
Okay, back to Julia Roberts & Richard Gere. Have a great day!

Sneaky Sneaky
I am currently in Atlanta visiting my family for the week. I was able to see my sister's ultrasound this morning. She is 7 months pregnant so her baby looks somewhat different than my baby. He was so cute in their sucking his thumb and hiding his face from the ultrasound machine.
One thing Boswells are good at is asking impertinent questions and getting things no one would have even asked for. So, when we asked her doctor if I could hear my baby's heartbeat M's poor husband was mortified. And the poor doctor obviously didn't feel comfortable about it (I'm sure there could be some legal ramifications), but all she said was "you've put me on the spot." I gave her an out, which she didn't take. (That's usually the Boswell girl game plan, M asks something impertinent, I soften the blow by acting sympathetic...and then we get what we want). All that to say, I got an ultrasound this morning!! I heard the heartbeat and saw the baby in my belly for about a second. I haven't had an appointment in over a month and it's hard to be excited when it is something so surreal. My sister's stomach is huge and I still can't grasp the concept that their is a real live baby in there that will come out in a month in a half. I can read the books all day long, but I'll still believe in the magic of storks.
On a side note, on this snowy, sleepy day in Atlanta I have been watching some movies. I just finished Sleeping with the Enemy and I am now on Notting Hill. I must say, Julia Roberts is awesome. Love her.

First Trimester Domination
So, I'm prego; which you most likely know.
One of my best friends keeps everyone up to date on her pregnancy/daughter with her blog, so I feel like following suit. I don't want to be one of those people who blows up your FB page with images of my expanding belly or my adorable infant, so I will leave it to you to seek out that information on your own.
The Annual Christmas party, the day after I found out I was pregnant!
* muted emotions
* weird mouth-aching: only lasted a couple of days, but it felt like I had just had a vicious mouth cleaning
* epic tiredness
* less talkative: I haven't noticed this so much, but J says I have been much less chatty, which makes him believe I am having a boy
* different food desires: I don't really consider them cravings, because it isn't really intense, I just want things I don't usually want, and don't want things I always eat. For instance, :
- cereal: I NEVER used to want cereal, now it's like "mmmm, cold milk and crunchy deliciousness, SIGN ME UP!" And I am currently considering getting out in this ice and cold to buy myself a box of Reeses Puffs even though J told me he'd bring a box home with him.
- anything fried, except french fries: this girl generally loves her fried food, but I've been having dreams of fried mozzarella and fried chicken. Chicken biscuits were in danger of extinction by me before, but now I have to constantly deny myself (Jonathan helps- Chick Fil A adds up), but I think I've only had fries once since I was prego, and I didn't even finish them! What? When have I ever not finished french fries?
- childhood foods: I know I generally have a 12-year-old's pallet, but since I've been pregnant, it's been all mac & cheese, banana sandwiches, peanut butter sandwiches, doritos, etc
- mexican: my stomach doesn't turn at the idea of eating mexican, but I used to be all about some nachos, refried beans & quesadillas and now I just have no interest
- desserts: I've been generally lacking a sweet tooth during pregnancy, but sometimes I want something specific with a VENGEANCE. I nearly cried when I found out we didn't have a Longhorns in Fayetteville bc I wanted their chocolate cake so badly.
- smoothies: during my 6th or 7th week of pregnancy, I wanted fruit smoothies EVERY morning. I would wake up NEEDING one, sometimes I would even get up out of bed early and make one and then go back to bed before work. J lovingly bought me tons of frozen fruit and yogurt, but by the time he went back to the store for the next weeks stock-up, I was done with them. I haven't wanted one since.
- meat: no desire for meat, I eat it because it's filling, but I never really want it.
- wine: I know, "Kelly, you shouldn't drink wine while you are pregnant." Don't worry, apparently baby knows this as well, because most of my first trimester wine has tasted like vinegar...which is probably a good thing ;)
